Do I qualify as a coaching client?
Would I benefit as a client of yours?
I'd like to say that ANYONE will benefit, but I prefer to qualify my clients so that neither of us is wasting the other's time.
A quick way to determine whether this is for you is to scan through the following checklist and notice if you can resonate or see yourself matching these points.
Do you ...
1. Crave More?
Can you identify the gaps that you have, or are you at least aware that 'something' is missing? Whether you define it as waking up, or growing up, or becoming aware, realizing that you are living according to what you SHOULD rather than what you WANT allows you to NOW get on with the first day of the rest of your life.
2. Seek Freedom?
We devise our own traps unconsciously - by succumbing to our environment, our ideas or our fear based thoughts. I HAVE to work all these hours. I CAN'T take a risk. They all DEPEND on me. I'm not smart, strong, rich, skinny, important ENOUGH. Freedom is a birthright to all of us. Whether you seek Time Freedom, Emotional Freedom, Financial Freedom, Travel Freedom, Health Freedom - closing your gaps increases your freedom.
3. Desire Something Different?
EIE!
Some people are happier in misery than they are willing to admit. Complaining, judging and blaming are more familiar than whatever other possibilities exist. When your circumstances or your thoughts bring you to a place of decision - meaning that you choose to say Enough Is Enough, then you have a glimmer of awareness that there is another way.
4. Want Connection?
A fundamental human need is for affiliation or connection to and with others. When our connections are difficult or strained or all about power and control and manipulation, then we will notice other areas of our life impacted by lack and emptiness and difficulty. And YOU are the only one that can impact this.
5. Wear a Mask?
I believe many people remain stuck when they aren’t willing to face the truth about their lives. It seems scary or we feel so guilty. If you can learn to objectively see yourself (and your flaws) & learn the lessons without judgment, you’ll make major progress right away. I believe that guilt and shame are huge 'suckers of energy' and frankly, a waste of time. You also do *not* need to feel bad about your life in order to change it. Authenticity does not have to elude you.
6. Expect more out of Life?
Good. It is MEANT to be rewarding and abundant and fulfilling and joyful and peaceful and FUN. However we tend to miss the road signs and helpful guides and lessons to all these birthrights when we have our head tucked down and our cruise control on. Get off the "I don't deserve it train" or the "I don't know where to start ship"
7. Intend to Commit?
This is most importantly about a commitment to yourself. To take responsibility and invest in your own well being and your abilities. To do what needs to be done in the context of time and be willing to learn and grow and consider new ideas or even old ones that are more useful now. Time is a tool and when you use it to improve on yourself it starts to work in your favour and the effects of your efforts come faster.
Bottom line is that change takes Desire, Energy, Skills and Time. But not nearly as much as you might guess.
